Twilight!

Well we went for a drive as a surprise(only bad thing is we have to drive an hour away for a good resturaunt and movie theater). The kids had no idea what was in store. We started out at the outback for dinner, then headed to the theater to see yes..TWILIGHT! Pierre and I have finished all the books, Collin is on the 3rd book and Trinity if you can believe it is on chapter 6 in the first book Twilight! They were all so excited and loved the movie. I can not wait for the next ones to come out. Love, Love, Love em! We had a blast. Thanks (mom and daddio)Grandpa and Grandma for the help with the expense towards our xmas present. It was so appreciated, and well deserved as a family outing. We haven't been out to REAL dinner or a movie at a theater in ages and I mean ages! Thanks again!

Tree!

Here is a picture of the tree after the kids helped finish decorating it..it turned out pretty good, and the kids had fun!

Christmas Tree!

Ok so we started decorating the tree today..half of the stupid lights on the tree don't work so we had to string a bunch of other lights on...kinda a bummer! We will finish decorating it when the kids get home from school, cuz I know they will be mad if we do it all ourselves.

Paigy!

Aparently Paige plays in bed before she falls asleep.(although we new that)Here is a cute picture of her wearing her speedo type swimming hat. She is so goofy sometimes!

Bnsf Employee Christmas Party!

We went to a christmas party last night and got to see Santa! The kids had a blast. The BNSF pays for the dinner but the employees donate money for gifts to be given to all the kidlets. There was over 3000.00 in gifts, from the money donated by the employees, pretty amazing. Collin got a really cool nerf gun that he wanted, Trinity got an ice-cream playdough maker, and Paige got twin baby dolls. They were pretty excited. It's really pretty cool. They also had a slide show of pictures at previous Christmas partys. Anyways here are pictures of the kids telling Santa what they want for Christmas.

Faith Hill, Joy to the World!

Incase anyone was looking for a good christmas cd..I found one. It is Faith Hill, Joy To the World. I watched her perform this live on TV and thought it was really good. I have two songs on my playlist on this site from her cd. I really like it, and the song a Baby changes everything is really cool it doesn't sound like a christmas song at first but if you listen to the words you will see that it is.

Proud of Myself!

Ok so I have been walking 3 miles about 6 days of the week for about 3 months now and just eating smaller portions of food and healthier food. Well I have as of today lost 26 pounds..and I am just very proud and happy! Sorry to brag, but I can't help it right now cuz I just can't believe that I did it. I hate excersing but since I started this walking thing, I feel so guilty when I don't or can't do it. I think I want to lose about 15 more pounds and I will be good to go. It's so nice to finally feel healthier and have a better self-esteem then I did before. I new there was a reason I kept all my smaller size pants, one day I kept saying, well it is here YAY! Wish me luck on more success! (please) =)

Goofing around with Paigy!

Paigy's hair the morning after we put curlers in it. It was so pretty, and with her hair as long as it is(doesn't show in the pic though, bummer)down to her booty..it was just beautiful!

We took the kids to school this morning and Paigy insisted on wearing her cinderella princess dress up shoes, and that hat which is too small for her. She's crazy!

Dad!

Well my dad was sent over to the rehabilitation hospital for the physical therapy part of his recovery..and later in the day after he got there he stopped breathing and his heart stopped. They took him back to the hospital and got him back but found out that he has a really high fever and his heart rate is too high. They gave him antibiotics and he seemed to get better so he went back to the rehabilitation hospital. They did some blood work and found out that his white blood cell count had dropped and then dropped again..So again he went back to the regular hospital. He had to have a blood transfusion because he has lost a lot of blood but they are not sure where from..he is not bleeding out so it has to be somewhere inside. They have a team of doctors working on that. They also found out that he has pneumonia. He is stable and his heart rate has gone down. They tested his eyes and he can't see well at all. The upside to this is that his spirits are still really good and he jokes around with everyone and...my mom called me the other day and she says hold on..and then my dad started talking to me. It was soo cool. He was really hard to understand cuz he is really slurry but I understood what he said. That is the first time I have heard him talk since this whole thing started. That was awesome! Get well soon Dad..we love ya!

Twilight Books!

I finished all four of the Twilight books, and I loved em. My favorite one was Breaking Dawn. I finished that one in one day cuz oh my gosh I couldn't put it down. They better make a movie for each one of the books..I just started a book called the Host by the same author Stephenie Meyer. My mom has read it and says that it is a really good book too, so we shall see. Haven't seen the movie yet, the hubster is into the books too so I am waiting till we can see it together. I can't wait.

Twilight Movie music video, Paramore-Decode

The Movie is based on the first book Twilight. I can't wait to see it. Can't imagine it will be as good as the book though. I am now just starting the 3rd book in the series of four. I love em!

Things are looking up!

I just talked to my mom and they moved my dad out of the ICU and into a regular room. He was able to sit in a chair today for about 40 minutes..and has been doing a lot better. Still a little on the confused side though. They are hoping to move him to I believe it is called St. Lukes a rehabilitation hospital around this Friday November 14th. Scream YAY! So far my dad has beat the odds but still has a long way to go. I want to thank all ya'll for all the prayers, I know they played a huge part in all of this. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he continues to recover! Thx...

Happy Birthday Card from My dad!

Ok so I am a little late at getting some of this stuff posted. I wanted to share this little birthday wish that I got from my dad when I was up there to see him. I will translate it some for ya'll.
Trick or Treat! Today is...(everything is a little lopsided)Happy Birthday..I want cake and Ice-Cream, probably will only be able to eat a pea!
I went in later that night..and whispered to my brother Rick to tell dad that we will sneak some cake and ice-cream into his feeding tube. He shook his head NO! My dad never hears us half the time talking at home normal..but he heard my whisper. I said to him, that's it dad now we know you can really hear us..no more selective hearing.HA! He motioned to us that he wanted to write something. He then wrote. "No food, No water, Just starving..it's worse then Prison." My brother and I started laughing.. We said Dad you have never been in prison before, unless there is something you need to tell us! It was pretty funny. He gets really agitated and confused, but he has yet to lose his sense of humor. That is a great thing.

Daddy and Me!

I am really missing my daddy right now, so I thought I would post a cute picture of Him and I. This was a few years back but as you can see I am giving him a piggy back ride. I must have some big muscles..LOL. He was heavy but I really actually walked carrying him. My dad is doing ok considering, we just found out that he has pneumonia and that there is an infection around his trach tube in his throat. His blood clot on his brain stem though is shrinking so that is awesome. I miss you daddy and hope that you can get better really soon so that I can come give you another piggy back ride..hehe!

Halloween 2008!

Well with all that has been going on I still have a little family to take care of. So Friday the 31st we got everyone dressed up and went trick-or-treating. The kids had a blast and although we were only out for an hour..the kids got TONS of candy. I couldn't believe how much loot they got..hehe.

Here is a picture of the kids..Collin was a dementer from Harry Potter, Trinity was the Wicked Witch of the West(from Wizard of Oz), and Paige was Glenda the good witch from the Wizard of Oz. They looked so cool. Hope everyone had a great Halloween.

Visit to Washington!

Although this was a sad visit...we all had a blast. We all decided that dad would not want us to be mopying around or crying all the time..so us 3 oldest girls made everyone laugh. We are pretty silly and funny when you get us together. I had such good time with my sister Kristi..it was a great visit with her but short. When she left it was my sister Nikki and I to continue putting on a show. We played off each other and had my mom rolling in laughter. She was crying she was laughing so hard at times. My mom doesn't laugh that often so it was soo great to see her be able to laugh and have fun with us knowing her husband and our daddy was in the hospital. It was such a fun time hanging out with my family. It at times when we visit is a lot of drama, but we all stuck together and made it an enjoyable time. I know my dad would have loved to see that, and he would have been happy. We took a picture of us siblings that were still there with my dad. There are 10 of us kids(7 girls and 3 boys)but only 7 of us were still there and in the pic. I have to say this..the BNSF railroad has been wonderful. The general manager of the northwest division told my dads boss to pay for our hotel and food at the hotel for as long as needed for now. I couldn't believe it when I heard that. My husband Pierre had called the general manager that wednesday night and he had heard that my dad was in the hospital but didn't know the extent of his condition. When Pierre told him and also told him that the railroad was my dads life..he said he would see what he could do. Paying for our room and board right down the street from the hospital couldn't have been any nicer. I want to just publicly say THANK YOU from my entire family. That meant so much to us.(my familys homes are over 2 hours away from the hospital) My sisters highschool raised over 300 dollars to help my family and our church has done so much for them as well. It is unbelievable the amount of help and support my family has received from so many ppl. Thank you to everyone!

Daddy!

This past couple of weeks have been crazy! I called to talk to my dad on October 21st and all I could here in the back ground was him yelling. It didn't sound right so I was asking my sister Tasha what was going on and what was he saying? She just said I don't know Misty I can't understand everything except that he wants us to call 911 and says he needs to go to the hospital. The ambulance arrived to pick him up and on the way to the hospital he stopped breathing twice. When they got to the hospital he stopped breathing again only this time they had to give him a shot in his heart and they were working on him for about an hour. They took my family aside(my sister Nikki and I were unable to be there at that time, she lives in Alaska and well I am in Texas)and told them that my dad was not going to make it. He had, had a brain stem stroke the worst kind that you can have and was going to die.(not something we were expecting to have to worry about at my dad's age of 55) I wasn't told that and had no idea they were told that till days later. Maybe a good thing I didn't know. He made it through the night and they wanted to life flight him from Richland Washington to Spokane Washington where they have a special ICU for neurological patients. My brother called me and my sister Nikki and said that we should probably get the next earliest flight out and head up that way. My sister and I of course panicked and cried together on the phone for sometime. Pierre hasn't been dealing with all of this too well either..My dad has been his dad for 15 years now. Pierres dad passed away when he was 10 from basically the same thing. It has hit him pretty hard and brought back a lot of sad memories for him. He loves my dad to death. It is so hard being away especially in this sort of situation. That night the 22nd they did infact life flight my dad. My sister and I arrived on the 23rd in Spokane Washington and were able to see my dad. He had been very confused all day, but was able to somewhat talk just very slurred. He is also paralyzed around the right side of his mouth and very weak on the left side of his body. On the 24th his breathing was very labored and he was struggeling to get air in, so they decided to yet again to intubate him. It was so hard seeing my dad that way. On the 25th my dad was able to write on paper to communicate with us...He asked my family what day it was and they said the 25th, Misty's birthday. He then wrote HAPPY BIRTHDAY and that he wanted cake and ice-cream(he loves ice-cream). That was the best birthday card a girl could have ever gotten from her daddy. (To me anyways) He is unable to swallow so he has a feeding tube down his nose and we are told that he may never get his gag reflex back which means that he will have a feeding line in through his tummy for the rest of his life. He finally made it over the most critical day which was day 7 of his stroke. They decided they would take the breathing tube out in a couple of days to see if my dad could swallow or not. We did find out that what should have taken my dad 2 weeks for the swelling in his brain to go down only took him 4 days. Amazing the doctor said. I left Thursday the 30th(which should have been the day to get the breathing tube out)and during my flight I was left a messege that my dad had fallen out of bed. He fell on his head and broke the orbital bone around his eye. His eye was swollen shut and severly black and blue.
He had to wear a neck brace because he was unable to talk and tell anyone if he had pain in his neck. He is having sever headaches as of now, which worries everyone of course. They took the breathing tube out a day later and he wasn't able to breath very good so they decided the best option for him was to do a tracheotomy. Sounds pretty scary to all of us but are assured that it shouldn't be anything permanent.(hopefully). He should have to be in the ICU for quite sometime until he is really stable(possibly 6 weeks)then either to a nursing home to become more stable or straight to a rehabilitation center to work on being able to walk and move fairly normally again. That will be even longer. The doctor is very happy with his progress but the falling out of bed and the trach she says are setbacks, but he should only go forward from here and improve. We are all praying for that. I have a couple of pics to post and wasn't sure if I should but they are all I have of my dad and I right now so I decided to. You cant see in the pic of Him and I but he has his arm around me. It was really touching.

Collins 12th Birthday party sleep over !

What was I thinking having 5 boys all together sleeping over, holy moly. No really it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The kids were very well behaved. We had his sleep over party this past weekend, since his b-day is actually today the 13th...we will celebrate as a family this evening. I have a few pics to post and just to let ya'll know, the girl sitting between Trinity and Paige is Shelby, Collin's Girlfriend..hehe. Then there is pictures of the boys in the playroom settling down for the evening..apparently they all like the Longhorns football team as you can see from there hand gestures. All and all it was a good day/night.

Teague Lion Pride!

Every Friday its like the movie Friday Night Lights here! The whole town shuts down to go and support the Highschool football team. Last year they moved Halloween back a day so that everyone could go to the game. On Fridays the elementary, intermediate, Jr. high and highschool dress up in Orange..usually Lion Jerseys to support the Highschool Football team. Its really cool actually..when I go pick the kids up from school everyone is orange and wearing Lion Pride tatoos! Its pretty neat how they show so much support for the team. Here are a few pictures of the kids dressed in there Lions Jerseys. Paige not dressed up but she wanted her pic taken too.

Tasha, my sisters poem to our family!

I love you woman!

He's the one always with a smile
the one looking for adventure
the one with courage
but still runs away from a bee
He's got the love for nature
got the jokes all around
got the brains
but doesn't always show it
He's very fun
very kind and caring
very sweet and sharing
but won't lend his phone
He's obsessive with the wii
the nintendo wii i mean
the bowling his best
but good at all the rest
a brother in-law so divine
and i get to call him mine

Advice is given
time is taken just to listen
A phone call away
with so much to say
A sense of closeness
to her experience
To have her there
and to have her care
My heart is full of gratitude
for the older sister
"GOD" has blessed me with

The face filled with greatness
A boy with a loaded heart
And shine in his eyes
COLLIN

The head with golden hair
A girl with a twinkle that follows
And such a contagious laugh
TRINITY

The body with an amazing soul
A girl with the love all around
And a personallity where you can't help but smile
PAIGE

A family full of joy
i can't live without
time rarley brings us together
but it does
and the memories never leave
the world is blessed to have you
and to call you my own
is more than a dream

We Survived Hurricane IKE!

Well I have been through my very first hurricane! Pierre has been through a few being from the East coast, but this was my first. Galveston and Houston were hit full force and pretty bad. As it moved North we were in its path. When it hit us it was a Hurricane Category 1. Our power went out off and on all day. Our backyard was pretty much flooded and the wind was crazy talk..(if u watch spongebob you have heard crazy talk before..hehe)We are now downgraded to a tropical storm and still getting heavy winds and rain. It was pretty cool though! I am just glad that we didnt get the destruction that down south of us did. We are grateful!
